Going south on Edgar Street, turning right to Brecon on the A438. You need the right-hand lane (3, counting from the left, red arrow) on approach.
Choose your lane and stick to it!
Going south on Edgar Street, towards Ross-on-Wye. Note that both lanes 1 & 2 (pink arrows) are OK for going south. Choose one and stick to it!
The green arrow (on the picture below) shows one choice, the other lane (lane 1, around the edge) is just as good.
Below, going north, heading for the city centre. Lanes 2 and 3 (counting from the left) both go to the city. Pick a lane and stick to it!
The signage is poor, you must rely on the road markings to get your lane early enough.
