Kingsditch Lane Roundabouts

McDonald’s Roundabout, Kingsditch

Right from PE Way to Cheltenham, easiest route. Check out the lane signs on approach.

Two lanes become three at the roundabout
Pick a lane and stick to it!
Right to Swindon Village from Cheltenham. NB easiest to use lane three (counting from the left) as in the picture. See approach below.
The left lane divides into lanes 1 and 2, the right lane divides into lane 3 and 4. Use lane 3.

Prestbury Mini Roundabouts

It’s just two mini roundabouts!

The green lines show the correct positioning, going ahead. The pink dots show where you can wait, if you have to, for traffic from your right (it’s just a roundabout!).

BEWARE! Drivers constantly ignore the fact these are roundabouts, and cut across them or even go the wrong side of the centre circles. They are wrong, you are right if you go around the centres.

Turning right from Prestbury Road into B4705

Wait at the first Keep Clear (pink dots) for oncoming traffic before you turn right.

Turning right into Prestbury Road from B4705

Also known as the ‘D’ junction. The B4705 splits into a short piece of one-way, so turning right at the end is done from the right-hand lane. If you find yourself at the end of the road in the left lane DO NOT attempt to turn right. Change your signal (if you are signalling right) and turn left.

A similar situation turning right from Whaddon Road into Prestbury Road.

Turn right from the right-hand lane.

Clearances – All Saints Road example.

Clearances are a big issue in Cheltenham.
Less space, less speed and stop if you are unsure.
